BLT SALAD WITH GARLIC TOAST — DOUGLASVILLE WEIGHT LOSS RECIPE OF THE MONTH
One of the hardest thing for some people is to change their attitude toward dessert.
You can have almost any dessert if you can hold yourself to only having a bite or two and you can limit that to once a week. Then you would not have a problem with sweets.
But one candy bar or one sugary coffee drink or one dessert at a restaurant and that can blow all of your hard work at the gym.
So for those times when you need more than just a taste and really want to enjoy a dessert. Try glazed bananas.
Lots of smoothie recipes this month because it is a great way to get a quick good for your breakfast — so get out of the fast food lane and into taking good care of yourself!!
This uses mango and papaya — if you can’t find any fresh or are just too lazy, there is great frozen mango in the freezer section at Publix (or your favorite grocery store if you are outside of the Douglasville area) So no excuses to get eating better — this is super quick!
Ok this one I checked out because my son had asked for a few times — NEVER AGAIN!!!
Instead of eating : Atlanta Bread Company Turkey Club Panini
You could eat all of this: 2 slices whole wheat, one slice cheese, 3 slices turkey, dijon mustard. AND a cup of vegetable soup AND 3 cups of salad, sliced tomato and 2 tbsp salad dressing
THAT IS A TON OF FOOD!! Way more than you need for lunch — so dump the greasy panini and lose some weight and be FULL longer!!
OMG — How bad it can go when you hit Atlanta Bread Company. Sure there are some decent salad options, but wow — there are some diet KILLERS there too. Now I tell people to check out restaurant nutritional info — you can’t always check and pre-planning can kill the fun of eating out so maybe spend a few hours picking out a few favorites at your favorite restaurants so you don’t end up eating something such as below.
Instead of eating — Atlanta Bread Company Asiago Cheese Pasta (with over 800 calories and a day and a half worth of saturated fat! WOW)
You could have ALL OF THIS : 2 cups green beans with a pat of butter, a chicken breast, 3 cups of salad, a small lean steak, a small baked potato with fat free sour cream or yogurt, 2 tbsp lite salad dressing.
OH LOOK — that is lunch AND dinner — or you can have the pasta — and oh ya, remember that does not include the bread that they throw in there for you — like you have not had enough carbs
The New December Recipe of the Month is on the site — Quinoa with Chicken and Black Beans — I think you will like it.

And to all my great friends in Douglasville and at the gym, it was wonderful to see you on Halloween. Hope the holiday was awesome and that you had your fill. A TIP : Halloween is the day for indulging not for weeks after so if you still have treats kicking around, toss them before they wreck your weight loss or weight maintenance goals
Brand new recipes — both yummy – one for the crock pot because it is starting to be that time of year. And the shephard’s pie is way way kid friendly. Careful to watch your portions on this one though — it makes 4 servings!! Don’t eat all of them
COLOMBIAN STEW
EASY SHEPHARD’S PIE
And feel free to print them out and share because I did printable versions of both.
ALSO, if you go to the gym here in Douglasville, you can pick up a copy of the stew at the gym because it is the November recipe of the month.
Keeping healthy staples is essential to eating healthy. Nothing more frustrating than having to buy 20 things to make dinner. So keeping the basics in the cupboard (the right spices, oils, vinegars, rice, flour, etc)
you get the idea!
