Colombian Stew and Shephard’s Pie
Brand new recipes — both yummy – one for the crock pot because it is starting to be that time of year. And the shephard’s pie is way way kid friendly. Careful to watch your portions on this one though — it makes 4 servings!! Don’t eat all of them
COLOMBIAN STEW
EASY SHEPHARD’S PIE
And feel free to print them out and share because I did printable versions of both.
ALSO, if you go to the gym here in Douglasville, you can pick up a copy of the stew at the gym because it is the November recipe of the month.
Great new chicken salad recipe
Yummy new recipe for chicken salad – you will love it…. OMG, it even has pecans and is under 300 calories!!
Many thanks to my awesome client Vicki for this great recipe. Hope you love it!!
Water – Just drink it
Your body is mostly water so it only makes sense that your body needs water to function properly. Failing to get enough water will make you feel tired, make it harder to concentrate, make many body functions not work efficiently (including digestion)
So seriously, come on, drink up. This is a very small thing for your body and you deserve it.
Hate plain water and just can’t get past the idea…. then flavor it up by drinking herbal tea, putting orange or lemon slices in your tea, whatever you need to make this a habit. Come on I am not asking much — it is just drinking!
Your body will thank you forever for it by being healthier!
New Yummy Recipes

Every Chef needs the right tools
Ok — I love kitchen stuff and that includes great pots, pans, dishes, small appliances, gadgets, you name it….. it is one of my favorite splurges!!!
No, you don’t NEED a smoothie maker. You can use a blender. But you need to make sure it is powerful enough to crush ice and frozen fruit and that it has a bit of a fun factor — is it going to be fun to use, easy to clean…… if not, you may need a smoothie maker.
Get what I am saying?
Great food comes not just from skill but from fun. If you dread having to use the blender because it is a total pain to clean, you won’t use it.
So try to look around your kitchen and see if there are any things holding you back. You need less than you think you do but a few key things really help.
For me, a great set of knives is just a no-brainer. I don’t even think about them, they are just there. Same with the easy to throw in the dishwasher chopping boards and colander. For me, if it does not go in the dishwasher, it might as well not come into my house. Because that is a huge deal. I like the dishwasher for ease but also for sanitizing.
One of my must – have items and I had to buy a new one when we moved and lived in a corporate apartment for a couple of months because I missed it so much was a stir fry pan. I got one when I got married and never knew how much I needed it. The higher sides are more forgiving if I am not the most accurate at stirring or flipping.
And while I am on pots and pans — a great set of pots is awesome even if it takes you years to get a full set. Is there someone who always asks what you want for your birthday, a great piece of open stock all-clad would be the first thing I would tell them.
Don’t cheat yourself out of the tools that can make healthy eating easier, more delicious and way more fun!!
